Burton Roberts
Roberts is a 31-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco. His proudest accomplishment: earning a master's degree in business management from the Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, Ill. He owns five Texas longhorns on his family's ranch outside Austin.

Rupert Boneham
Boneham, a mentor for troubled teens, is 39 and hails from Indianapolis, Ind. He once worked as a gravedigger. He likes books about reptiles and oatmeal raisin cookies. He and his wife, Laura, have a 4-year-old daughter, Raya.

Trish Dunn
A 42-year-old sales executive, Dunn is from Annapolis, Md. She and her husband are the parents of twins Reilly and Molly, who turn 10 on Sept. 21 Dunn, who runs for fun, has completed 24 marathons, including 10 Boston Marathons. Twinkies are one of her favorite snacks.

Sandra Diaz-Twine
Diaz-Twine, 29, an office assistant, is from Fort Lewis, Wash. She and her husband, Marcus, have two children, Tatiana, 8, and Alanna, 6. She served as a chemical repair specialist with the U.S. Army and her favorite movie is "G.I. Jane."

Jon Dalton
An art consultant, Dalton hails from Danville, Va. He is 29, and he used to work as a production assistant for pro-wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper. He describes himself as sharp, quick and amazing, and he says his hero is Hugh Hefner.

Michelle Tesauro
From Pittstown, N.J., Tesauro is a 22-year-old student. Every February, she participates in the Polar Bear Plunge, a fundraiser in which she runs into the freezing Atlantic Ocean to raise money for the Special Olympics. She says her sense of humor helps her through difficult situations.

Christa Hastie
Hastie is a 24-year-old computer programmer from Los Angeles. She worked as a model when she was a child. She was once arrested for a misdemeanor; she sat on the hood of her car when she learned it was about to be towed. Now she is engaged to a racecar driver.

Shawn Cohen
Cohen, who turns 29 on Sept. 20, works in advertising sales and lives in New York, N.Y. He says his friends and family call him "The Ultimate Salesman." He thinks he'll be a good Survivor partly because he's competitive and he never quits.
