Ready for the season

Every season I put out feelers for those of you who have expressed interest in helping out with the site. I typically get about 20 responses. I respond to 10, forget about the others (by accident) and get 2 responses. Those people are eager to help out. One of them actually logs in to do something.

Since it's tradition for me to be let down, I figured I would leave it up to you guys to spoil that tradition. Show me that people are willing to take over some portion of the site -- without deleting the database again.

I have asked MyPoody a million times to help, but he typically responds with some smug comment. I'd still have him, should he ever decide that one site is better than two.

That's it...sign up. Do something.

I see. So you ignore (by accident) the people who could have really helped you and kept this place up, and then feel sorry for yourself when you have no active members left?

I personally know of one member who offered help continually, but you not only ignored them, you lambasted them for stepping in and trying to keep control of your forums when you went awol. That member now runs a very successful reality tv site and has many of your former members working under them. And guess what? They're all happy and they all contribute.

MyPoody is a child who wants attention. He thinks he has you wrapped around his little finger, and you're playing into that.

If you're serious about getting help here, I suggest you swallow your pride and offer up some sincere apologies to the people you've driven away. Then, you need to think outside the box and advertise in places that everyone and their brother hasn't already tried.

It's a shame to see this place a mere shell of what it could be. The forums are dead, the news isn't kept up, and even the screencaps aren't enough to keep people coming back. Rather than throwing yourself a pity party, try giving your head a shake and starting over from scratch. And this time, show some respect for the people who actually do visit and are eager to help you.

You know producer, i have offered to help you numerous times. Every single time you gave me some smart ass remark and insulted me, and quite frankly im done, i could have helped you with my capping skills, butits too late for that, i have moved on, have a very successful site, and im sick of your bullshit, and you wonder why you get rejected so many times.

MyPoody's site isn't the one I was referring to. I left with the first wave, during or just prior to S6, when producer came back from vacation and ripped us all a new one for keeping his precious forums alive and kicking.

I'm sure since then there have been several splinter boards and forums created. The one I'm talking about is run by avery well-respected former member here, and she is a delight to work for.

I'd love to give her the credit she is due, but I don't want to embarass her here.

I agree with the first poster. I have turned some people away. Never on purpose. There are both sides to the story on this issue. When i came back and the forums were in a mess, I was getting 10-15 emails a day from people complaining. I had no other choice than to crack down. Since then I've let the thing run it's natural path, but it doesn't seem to matter.

I'm not sure what other site you talk of, feel free to post it. I'm not against letting people know about good resources.

Most of my time over the past season was lost due to comment spam and other technical issues that kept me from actually working on the site. I think I've kept that problem under control now. I should be able to get the site back to it's former status -- but I do need help.

Does anyone have any ideas?
