Bitches and Brawn

Is is my imagination or did Jeff Probst look especially scrumptious during the tribal councils last night? I mean, he always looks GOOD, but I was drooling. Oh well, he'll be there next week, but JP and Mia will not be. For one I am sad and for one I am thrilled. I'll bet you can't guess which one.

The problem with a tribe of eight people is the possibility of an even split. It wasn't a factor for the men, as an alliance of five voted out a guy that was in the minority in Episode One. The women, however, took care of Dolly in the middle, leaving them in a tie situation. After seeing this past episode, one of the "sides" would have been so much smarter to bring Dolly into their alliance so that they wouldn't have had to worry about a tie or someone switching. If you have the opportunity for a one-man advantage, you should take it. Heck, the primary men's alliance currently has a three man advantage. They could cut Rory loose and STILL be okay.

And now for my individual comments and Smart Awards.

AMI
Props to Ami for doing the right thing and giving JK head in exchange for the necklace. *pauses* Okay, so she didn't. But she did do a lot of things right this episode helping her to earn her second Smart Award in a row. Ami hasn't gotten much screen time, other than when she had to, so that is a good sign. Although CBS made an error on their little flashy video type thing on the front page which shows a picture of Mia and says Farewell Ami. They really need their heads screwed on right. The excellent move she made was also a bold one when she tried to talk sense into Twila at Tribal Council. They weren't just words to live by in Survivor, they were words I think everyone should apply to their life. Ami should have won points with everyone involved there.

ELIZA
Just when I thought the girl was smart. I specifically said last week that Eliza's old alliance would not trust her if she went back to them. They even told her so and she snapped back by saying she'd vote with the others then. In the possibility of a tie when you've already betrayed your own alliance, you might as well accept the cards you've drawn and avoid the tie. The target was OFF Eliza's back. Now it is back ON her. And might I add she has NO right to call Lisa a bitch when she did the very same thing in voting for Dolly. I still like Eliza as a person, but just wish she would learn to stick with one plan.

JULIE
Interesting thing about Julie. She has voted in the minority in both Tribal Councils. Yet, she hasn't been targeted. Why? Julie lets her alliancemates draw attention to themselves and dig their own holes. In theory, lets say the tribes merged at 10. Yasur has a majority alliance of four. Eliza has now dug herself a hole. If five Yasur women made the merge, that fifth spot would likely go to Julie or Lisa. By keeping quiet, she's kept herself out of the drama and has done well in holding out for a merge with the guys where she can use her "assets". Oh, right. None of the guys left on Lopevi are single. Scratch THAT plan.

LEANN
Not much from Leann this episode. I'm telling you. She's a dark horse. Beware.

LISA
Another Smart Award goes to Lisa. Forcing a tie takes fate out of your hands. The opposing alliance already doesn't trust you, so the best thing one can do is make sure it's someone else and not them. Lisa HAD to be tired of hearing Mia's mouth too. MY GOD! *covers ears* There is no turning back. Lisa is fixed on one side now until the tribes intermingle.

SCOUT
Another challenge bungled. Fortunately, Scout is very endearing and she happens to be in the majority alliance. As the numbers dwindle, the need to win group immunity will lessen. If there IS a switch, I think there is a very good chance Scout will be gone. The men won't feel as bad about letting her go as the women do.

TWILA
I so badly wanted to see Twila kick Mia's ass. Even if it got Twila kicked off the show -- I wanted it. Ami does have a point. I think that Twila would help her case if she TRIED to play nice with the young girls. Of course, when someone is hostile to you, you feel like being hostile back, it's natural. But sometimes, you gotta bite your tongue and be the bigger person. The biotch is gone, Twila is safe. End of discussion.

My comments will continue with the guys very soon. People and places call. I'll be a cruel, saucy little minx and leave you hanging for a couple days...

Have a great weekend!
